Wedding...June 14, 2012

Hi friends! I know, I know.....do i even remember that I have a blog????? I have received a lot of emails about my current status and questions of why I haven't been writing. The honest truth is that I just don't have time. I am not doing much writing at all these days. I miss it terribly and sometimes grieve it somewhat. But I just keep hearing God say "you are not in the season of writing...it's ok...don't be upset...I will give you the time later". Blogging is a great way to express what you feel without requiring or expecting one single person to sit and listen to you. Does that makes sense? I love that I can just write and post. Then people read or don't read....there is such freedom in that.

And when I am not writing I don't totally feel like myself. And there I go again wanting to grieve it. ha! There are times that I just have so much to say. In the last six months I have moved states, started a new job, made new friends, became a girlfriend, started attending a new church, became a fiance, parents sold house and moved to AR, bought a wedding dress and started planning a wedding........I have gone from years of singleness (and honestly a lot of boring time) to being in a wonderful relationship full of on-the-go adventure.

And I can't wait till I can share all that I have learned about myself. More than ever I am a full blown promoter of learning to ENJOY YOUR SINGLENESS!!!! BE IN IT~~~ LOVE IT~~~~REST IN IT! I can't wait to tell all you girls the great things about falling in love but also the parts that are hard and interesting as you move into the next season of life.

It is the best of times and the hardest of times. God has used these last few months to really prune me. Oh how selfish I am, oh how different I communicate than a man, oh how deep I can really love another person.....and can you believe that I AM NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!!??!!!??? ha. But what I find so interesting is that even though love can be hard sometimes, I find that it is worth every conversation, ever prayer together, ever opportunity to grow together......every bit of it is worth it.

It's not some fairy tale. It's far better and more rewarding. And this is just the beginning...I mean, we aren't even married yet! ha! I am so thankful that God has been doing a major overhaul inside my heart. So many secret areas that needed to be dealt with that I was completely unaware of. It's really a beautiful thing. Anyway, I'm rambling now haha! I'll just share and bear the soul later.

I'm posting today to get you all up to date on my wedding planning!!!!!!!! I am finally getting to a place where I am not overwhelmed by it all. PRAISE GOD! Man, it is not easy. Plus I'm an art person with multiple style personalities so I end up loving most all wedding ideas/colors/decoration. BUT I HAVE FINALLY MADE SOME DECISIONS........

First thing....We are getting married June 14 at 6:30 pm! Yes, that is a thurs night. totally weird but yall we are art people and we are weird! It's perfect!

We are getting married in Fayetteville.....a place I have just fallen in love with. I spend more time in Fayetteville then any other city.

very neutral as far as decorating colors. the barn is beautiful and the setting outside is beautiful so I don't want to overpower it with bright crazy colors.

My overall wedding colors are yellows and sea foam green/turquoise-ish hahaha. i don't really totally know.

i'm probably NOT doing one wedding cake. I'm not a HUGE wedding cake person. I do however love all kinds of cake. carrot, red velvet, chocolate, German chocolate, lemon, strawberry, yellow....you get the point. I just think a buffet of cakes fits me better.

we are both artists so I am still chewing on the idea of large crazy paintings to hang on the walls of the barn. Or large artsy pics of Shane and I.....not sure yet. We just need art works incorporated in the decor.

So that is kind of the direction we are going for the big HUGHES/BEYER wedding. FUN FUN FUN!!!!! all subject to change or course hahaha! The band is booked and I can't wait to dance!!! I also can't wait to be Caroline Hughes Beyer! so fun!!!!!!

I would love to ask for you prayers. That we (me) would be wise in planning this special day. As you all know, God wrote out this story. Above all the glitz and wedding mumbo jumbo....I want our wedding to give Him all the glory and praise. It is a true story of His love and grace. I want to be obedient in this and I want Him to be pleased with me. So pray my brain can slow down and focus! ha!

Thank you in advance! I miss each one of you terribly!! I really do!
