And Three....

Photobucket

Hi friends! I'm behind on blogging because I have been a painting machine this weekend. I tend to paint stuff that I like and in my colors. I am now attempting "shabby chic" painting for presents and stuff. I must say, it is super fun painting with less detail and fast strokes. I will show you pics once the gifts are given. I might be on to something new ha!

Ok...now for the rest of my home tour. Lets head down the hallway....

I also bought this metal etching while in China....i know, i know..your wondering how in the world i got all this art work home. VERY CAREFULLY.

Photobucket
I bought it in a village where you had to cross a big bridge in order to get to it. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I felt like we were in a movie!

Photobucket
Laura and I on the bridge. It was breathtaking. once we crossed over we had a long hike up to the village.

Photobucket
here we are on the bus ride to the village! fun times

Photobucket
at the very top of the mountain was an area where the people would do their traditional dances. We got there just in time to not only watch but they also let us participate. This is RIGHT DOWN MY ALLEY!!!! We have it all on video!

Photobucket

one of their buildings!

Photobucket
school was in session. It was so cold and they had no heat! I asked the school leader if they would mind if we went into a classroom. I explained that I was a teacher and curious to see how they learn! I AM SOOOOO GLAD I ASKED! it was so neat to hear the kids singing and to be able to see them learning!

Photobucket
sweet faces!

Photobucket
the last dance....do you see Laura in this pic?

Photobucket
holding hands and dancing! I was in hog heaven!!!! I love learning about other cultures!

Photobucket
ok.....anyway, i bought the etching of the bridge right before we left. I was so in love with the people I want to have something that reminded me of them!
another bathroom pic...

Photobucket

hallway into guest room..

Photobucket
I love this room. It is girly, simple and clean feeling. The antique bed belonged to my grandparents. I am honored to have it!

Photobucket
The darling vanity that my dad refinished! My dad is awesome with furniture!!! can't you tell?

Photobucket
second guest room....

Photobucket

here is the daybed......it was Laura's when she was little. her parents gave it to me a long time ago and I am so grateful!!!!! We have used it so much!

Photobucket

This is my desk. This is where all the posts are written. One day I will have a labtop and won't have to sit in the uncomfortable chair to write.....BUT...I'm grateful for a place to get away and write without being distracted!

Photobucket

As you know, I collect artwork where ever I go. These are a few painting I have either bought from other countries or people gave me from other countries.

Photobucket

This painting was in my baby room....my grandmother, the one I am named after, painted it. This picture means so much to me. What I wouldn't give to be able to talk with her and even paint with her. I am honored to carry on her name and her artistic abilities!

Photobucket
