Weekend Craziness....

So.....this post should have been up on Monday. I was so tired that I only got the photos done and not the words. I'm sorry it's taking me so long to get another post up. I recovered Monday and yesterday I spent the whole day with Amy while she got her hair/makeup and bridal portraits done! It was SOOOOOOOO fun but I did not get home till 11.30ish....more on that later..

Anyway, back to my weekend. Laura and I hosted a Bridal Shower for Amy this past Saturday in my home. Laura drove up on Friday and we spent the afternoon picking up food and finalizing things for the shower.

Friday night Laura surprised me with an early birthday celebration (mine is not till the 17th) by taking me to dinner and giving me my b-day gift early! It was such a fun surprise!!! We ate at the Catfish Plantation!!! YUM!

This is our bff Amy. As you have read before, she is getting married Aug 21 to Jeremy who is from Hawaii and currently living there. They met in Seminary. Amy and her family leave tomorrow to go to Hawaii to meet his family and take some of her stuff because she will be living there too.

Amy LOVES birds so that was our theme for this party. The next few pictures are the decoration around the house. Sadly, my wonderful camera just didn't capture what it looked like in person but you can still get the idea. it was allllllllll about the moss for me ha!

Photobucket

hard to see but I used branches with moss and little humming birds to add something dramatic to my chandelier. Cheap and easy!

another view...

here are some of the mini desserts...

I used a wreath, that was in my laundry room, as part of the center piece. Put that vase in the center and some of my mom's bird collection in the wreath.

Photobucket

lots of cupcakes....the yellow ones look orange in this picture but they were not.

In the kitchen I made a smaller center piece using the moss and birds again!

It was a great time! Thank you Mom for letting me borrow all of your bird collection and for you and dad driving down!!!!!!!!!!!! I sooooooooo appreciated it!

Amy ended up spending the night so I had BOTH of my bff 's all to myself. It was bitter sweet because it is the last time they will both be in my home for a long time. Amy leaves for Hawaii the day after the wedding. We stayed up till 1 am talking about EVERYTHING and we even pulled out the video from our christmas in China back in 2006. We laughed and laughed. We relived lots of moments and I am so thankful that I had those hours with both of them!!!!

ok, so we stayed up WAY late and got up WAY early to go to church together at Hillcrest! One last time.....it is the church that we all met and became fast friends! It just overflowed my heart to see old friends and to be hugged so much! We were tired but I am so glad we went. There is nothing like returning to a church that was so pivitol in your spiritual growth. You have such a tender heart towards those that loved you and helped you seek.

That afternoon all the bridesmaids headed to Amy's parent's house for a bridesmaids tea!!!! It was soooooo fun!

And as you can already guess.......we talked A LOT! So much! It was fun having two newlyweds at the table to share advice and to hear some of their marriage stories. We then relived some more China stories and Chels had us all laughing! The girl is so funny! Pure Joy!

It was such a great weekend! You all know that I enjoy having my best of friends around me. I need it........and I know that from here on out it won't be easy to see each other so I am thankful for the time we do have. I feel like I am leaving out so much! I just love being with them and this weekend was so special!!!

I spent all day yesterday with Amy and I will have a few pics that I can share of us together. Today I have to go to the dentist. boooo. I have been suffering with extreme jaw pain for about 2 months now. it comes off and on. I think a wisdom tooth is pressing on a nerve...not sure so i need to go in. I actually called the office at 1 am to tell them that they had to fit me in today hahahaa. I was IN PAIN!

I HATE THE DENTIST! I have a million dollar mouth which means that I was born with very little or no enamel on my teeth. So, something is ALWAYS wrong and I sometimes don't deal with it because it all cost me so much. I also cry everytime I go in as they begin to make a list of what needs to be fixed or updated. I take it personally and end of feeling like a loser. I wish I didn't do that but I do.

This is way to much info for you but honestly my mouth has always been a place of insecurity for me. I use to ask them to just give me dentures so that I would not have to deal with the pain.....obviously that isn't the answer ha.

God gave me a big smile and a big obnoxious laugh and I have to remember that He also chose these weak teeth too. When I feel like the weight of the world is on me, finacially, He reminds me that He has NOT failed me yet. He is my provider and I have to trust that He will make a way!

And I know He will! So my prayer today is that He would give me strenth and courage to walk in and not be so emotional about it. That I would take on the personality that is all about the "facts" so that I don't crumble to pieces. I'll let you know how it goes. I have no idea why I just shared all that with you ha! Guess it's heavy on my heart! i don't know.

I love you! I am sorry I am so behind on posting and SOOOOOO behind of replies to emails. I have read every single email but several I have not had time to respond to! I will try and do that today! Hope you are having a great week!

love you-
