The Wedding....
Hi friends....wow I am so tired. First week back at school drains me so much! But it has been a great week! My life is COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL since I got my wisdom teeth out. My house has NOT been cleaned, my yard has not been mowed, groceries have not been bought, and my clean laundry is in a pile just staring at me like "seriously, are you ever going to fold us" hahahhahahha. Oh the judgement! ha
Anyway, juust being honest friends. I have had a strange/powerful/exhausting/refreshing/interesting week spiritually. I am tired. Funny thing is that in the middle of it I have never felt more beautiful or protected by God. Again, the God that made me and can shut the mouth of a lion is the same God that is with me every second of my life. I have not departed from saying these words several times a day this week....
Save me, O God, by your name;
vindicate me by your might.
Hear my prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth.
Strangers are attacking me;
ruthless men seek my life—
men without regard for God.
Selah
Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me.
Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
in your faithfulness destroy them.
I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
I will praise your name, O LORD,
for it is good.
For he has delivered me from all my troubles,
and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes....Psalm 54
He is good. My prayer is that this weekend He will give me the energy to get my life in order and rest all at the same time! ha!
So now for the post..... that is about a week overdue. I will keep my words few because this post contains the most pictures I have EVER POSTED! wow, i just wanted them all here. It will be a long time before we have pictures with Amy to put on the blog. sadness
We will pick back up with everyone getting ready...then the rest!
the boys hanging out...

Then it was time to put the dress on. Amy and Jeremy did the "first look" thing so that we could have all the pics done before the wedding. It was fun!
there was a little stage in the room for the bride to stand on. Except Amy never did..... but we did A LOT!!!!!!! hahahhaa

work it, work it hahahaha....

before it was time to start the ceremony we had prayer time. We each prayed over Amy, the wedding, their ministry, and their marriage. We cried. I could have just cried like a baby. It was such a special time for us as friends. Oh man, you could just feel the presence of God as each prayed.
We all walked down the aisle to Oh Glorious Day....
"Living He loved me
Dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified
Freely forever
One day He's coming
Oh, Glorious Day
Oh, Glorious Day"....
It was just beautiful. I was so emotional and nervous! ha! Chels' husband Dom walked me down. I turned to him and said "I am about to cry" and he said "Your ok, you can do this" and you know what...I relaxed and was fine ha!
Dr. Steve, Dr. Steven Smith actually, married them. He is a long time friend and teacher to us. We respect him so very much. He was also a big part of our spiritual growth and understanding marriage when we were just out of college. I will share more later. He did a great job and it was just fantastic!!!
We sang, as a congregation, In Christ Alone, Come thou fount, during prayer time they sang Be Thou My Vision . It was so PERFECT!
Beautiful ceremony!!!!!!!!! so beautiful. Then it was time to sign the marriage license!
Dr. Steve, me and his beautiful wife Ashley!!! So here is the story..... We met them at church when I was a senior in college. Dr. Steve is the Dean of College at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a proffesor of Communication. He teaches future preachers how to preach. Ashley is also a Sem grad and working on her Doctorate. They have two beautiful little girls...Jewell and Sydney.
They entered our lives during a spring College retreat. Teaching us about marriage and our relationship with God. They would become apart of our lives from that moment on. The year before I bought my house we (the few singles at our church) had Dr. Steve as our sunday school teacher. Just a few of us, in a little room, with a very powerful teacher! One of my favorite years EVER!!! He taught us like a Seminary class! I loved it!
Anyway, I could talk about them all day. They just invested in us at the right time and made really big impacts on us! I LOVE THEM! ha

our Hillcrest Family........LOVE THEM!
Laura's mom and my mom!
funny Joshua..and chels and dom ha

it all went by fast......before we knew it, it was time for Amy to change and to say our last goodbyes....

i'm crying here...so sad
and then they drove away. They are honeymooning on another Hawaiian island and then will be living on the Big Island. Oh, I can't wait to visit. Jeremy is on staff at a small church in a rural area and Amy has found a job! PTL! I am excited for them both.
I hope you have a lovely weekend! I love you! I hope to have time to write this weekend! I have so much to share with you! Talk with you soon!
