Another Wedding Weekend....

Hello friends! So I am surprised by the number of emails due to my video last week. That is such a praise because I thought it would or might turn many off from reading....so thank you for watching and thank you for your encouraging emails! I hope to respond to you all at some point. Just taking me longer than normal! Sorry in advance!

I do promise...after today...to limit the video's. Sometimes it would be so much easier to just talk to you than to write it out but it is the process of writing that God uses to really draw me in closer and I just couldn't give that time up.

So to my weekend of family and another wedding. My sister and her husband George, Daddy Bob and Ruby, and I all arrived at my parents on Friday. Daddy Bob brought us Corky's BBQ and it was amazing! Mom also gave me my dad's mother's copy of The Art of French Cooking-Julia Child....I was so excited and plan to make that chocolate cake soon! YUM!

Saturday we slept in, had a big breakfast casserole with fruit and lots of coffee. Then my mom's cousin, David and his family came over to snack and chat before the wedding!

Seriously...my friends say that we go to more wedding...my family that is. When you have moved as much as we have you get to know A LOT of people! We love a great party! ha...you will see evidence of that soon.

My 2nd cousin, Matt, was getting married. His mother, Rita, and my mother are cousins. You have seen them on the blog before because they went with us to the Gaylord Ice thing back in Dec. Anywho, mom, dixie and I went to the wedding early to take pictures and.....

So mom could do Rita's hair! ha! Don't they look pretty!!!!!!! I loved Rita's dress. She was a beautiful mother of the groom!

a few decorations.....

The wedding was in an old chapel and fellowship hall that now just has weddings and parties.

take a look at this cake!!!! yum

this one was cute too

Here is Cary...Matt's dad

and his mom, Rita!

we were there for a long time before the wedding so naturally we got into Photo Mode and started snapping!

Daddy Bob and Ruby

Here is the couple, Matt and Linden!...wedding was short and sweet but i must say one negative about it......the photographers were TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! there were two of them and they used their flash over and over and walked up and down the aisle and crawled all over the floor. They were so loud and it was sooooooo distracting. I mean it was like "flash, flash, i do, flash flash, flash flash"...you get the point. boooo. It honestly made me mad because even during the prayer they were loud. so rude!

By 6.30 pm it was snowing and soooo cold. They took pics out in it! VERY BRAVE!

and so did George and I ha...snow in march..crazy for Texas~

The reception was super super fun. It was a small wedding so I enjoyed the intimate feeling of it. This is our cousin Jessica! She is a ICU nurse in San Antonio!

Here are her parents

some of the food......

The couple again.......she was really sweet

dancing.......

while waiting for the cake and the fun to begin... Dixie and George participated in prom pics for me...hahahha i love awkward things like this hahaha. pure joy

HELLO CAKE...oh man and it was soooooo good!

THEN THE DANCING BEGAN..........as you can see-i was super excited!

ok, honestly this post in not complete without this video....it will help you understand the pictures below it. Trust me.....this is my last flip video for awhile. Don't send me an email telling me to stop- NO WORRIES.....i will not have a video every time I post! BUT.....this little snack really captures my family! ha...and it's short so enjoy! ps...if you love the song "Butterfly Kisses" then don't watch.

we went from singing to dancing.........

The Hughes women........always love a good laugh!!!!

ok so this might not be funny to you but do you remember that Daria show on MTV....in the intro she would always just stick her hand out during gym class volleyball like "see i tried"...hahahah I always loved that and so i like to do that at wedding because I REFUSE TO DIVE FOR THE BOUQUET......this picture makes me laugh because i didn't realize i was soooooo FAR BACK....and yes i totally just stuck one arm out. ha! ps-i hate to toss thing-will not be doing it at my wedding! This is me telling my supporters that i was NOT DIVING FOR IT! ha

The Footloose song is what really got us on the dance floor. Dixie and I LOVE 80's music! LOVE IT! Well my sister got a little crazy and towards the end TOTALLY DID THE FOOTLOOSE JUMP......you know the one....

see.....look at how high she got of the ground and IN A DRESS....and at a wedding! Proudest sister moment ever for me! She is so daring! I love it!ha

and we just had the greatest time! Drove home in a snow storm and had a great night of sleep. Church the next morning where my dad taught a great Sunday School lesson on Rev 7 and mom's choir sang a beautiful song. A yummy Italian lunch and then I was back on the road! Such a wonderful family weekend! Hope you had a great weekend too! Thanks for reading and watching ha! I will be writing later this week on some things I am learning and about opinions that have been changed! interesting...well we shall see.....love you and enjoy this beautiful Monday!
