Proverbs 24:4-3
Oh man, what a fun weekend!
I took off from work of Friday for several reasons......
#1- it was pay day and since teachers get paid once a month and my last pay check was DEC 18......let me just say that I had put off a few things for the weekend! Praise God for the pay check!!!!!
#2- I did not want to tired by the time the girls got to my house that afternoon!
#3- because I could! ha!
This was me Friday morning after checking my bank online and seeing MONEY! hahahahhaha I followed this face up with a "Praise the LORD!!!"

I had to pick up cakes, grocery shop, get the lasagna ready, vacuum, and write cards......I liked Kelly's banner for Harper so I made one for the girls!!! and yes...some of my Christmas decor IS STILL UP!!!!!!!!! DO NOT JUDGE ME!!!! I wanted my girls to see some of my house decked out since we could not get together over Christmas.....yes I will be taking it down soon. ha!

By 3 pm I had not even had lunch and was just getting in the shower........I broke out the big black headband for the festivities......

Laura arrived first and I was sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!! We got to sit and talk for a very long time in the living room! She has just started a blog so we went and got on the computer to talk blog stuff! I am so glad that she is blogging. Especially since she is in OKC!
Amy arrived later that afternoon and my heart was complete. I had my very best friends under one roof and ALL TO MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was funny because we would sit in the living room forever and talk.....then while I was finishing dinner we all were at the kitchen table still talking....this process kept going till we had been in all the main rooms! ha! here are the girls in the sun room...

side note about dinner.......i made my grandmother's lasagna recipe that mom made for us on Christmas eve. Well, at one point you have to let the homemade sauce simmer for an hour and I was like "WHAT" and then the dang lasagna noodles were so slippery that they were ALL OVER THE PLACE! ha! but you know what
*
..............IT TASTED JUST AS GOOD AS MY MOTHER'S!!!!!!!!
The girls loved it and it was one of those moments that I was like....
"I am really a woman!"
hahhahhahahahaa. It was so good that I will def remember this recipe when I cooking sometime for a handsome man hahahahahhahahha! jk....ha...i will post the recipe tomorrow!

We had salad and crusty garlic bread with the lasagna and we were STUFFED by the time we finished! Then it was time to open presents!
Amy got a subscription to Real Simple...Laura's fav mag

Laura (our new bride) got a darling apron from Anthropology so she can cook AND BE CUTE!

I did a painting for Laura but forgot to take a pic. oh well! and gave her a pedi for her up coming family trip to Hawaii in May!
Later that evening I turn out all the lights and had the girls close their eyes! I had bought them each a decadent cake and covered them with candles.........These are the pics I got as they opened their eyes!!!!!!!

They were so happy and that made me SOOOO HAPPY! I just love them! I wanted them to feel so special! We sat at the dining room table FOR HOURS eating cake, dreaming, and sharing!
Saturday morning we all slept in....well I was up at 8 but I was able to get the coffee made and go have an hour alone in my sun room with the Lord. I will share more of that at the end of the post. Amy got up and then Laura. We had coffee, talked and then looked at bridal mags for Amy.....wink.
Then it was TIME FOR THE DOVE'S NEST!!!!!!!

laura's first time.......she looked at the menu......

amy and I did not! ha! we already knew we wanted that AMAZING BURGER!

laura giving me a crazy/excited/strange smile hahahah

ok so here is the food! They serve kettle chips with this wonderful corn relish stuff. But on sat they served us a black bean, feta cheese, cilantro relish stuff THAT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! Tasted like we were on an island somewhere!

BURGER.......the best

LM got the club panini...it was VERY GOOD TOO!

Then we ordered the pie.....you know this pie....the one that amy and i ALWAYS get. Sadly Laura does not like pecans and only had about two bits. Good news...MORE FOR AMY AND I! ha

One of the best things about having a blog is the fact that people are more willing to do crazy or different things for you........I always say "It's for the blog" .......like I'm saying they need to take one for the team hahahahhahahahha! well Laura is always willing and I got some super cute pics of her.
This is a really large rug section of The Dove's that nobody messes with....but I was able to get Laura up in it and all over them! ha

and a super fun tutu on her head! she is so cute

We then took a few fun pictures before Laura had to hit the road to her parents in Ft Worth! I think they all turned out great.......

Ha! Laura makes the funniest faces! Amy and I spent the rest of the afternoon trying on engagement rings for her and learning all kinds of things about diamonds......it was so fun! Did I try them on too, you ask? OF COURSE I DID! are you crazy?!
I love stuff like that!!!!!!
Now to why I titled this post Proverbs 24: 4-3........
"By WISDOM a house is built, and through UNDERSTANDING it is established; through KNOWLEDGE its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures..."
This is the verse I sat and whispered over and over as my two best friends slept in my extra rooms.
I was reading in 2 Samuel when the Holy Spirit brought this verse to my mind. I just kept saving it over and over. "filled with treasures".....and as I drank my coffee and repeated this verse I could not hold back my thankful tears to have a full house.
I so long to one day be married.
I so long to one day be a mother.
And as I thought about how I had cooked and prepared for this weekend, I realized for the first time, how God has so blessed me with the opportunity to grow in WISDOM as I make a home, grow in understanding as I establish a home, and how the time I spend with Him and all the things He is teaching me is Father giving me KNOWLEDGE IN HIM that fills the rooms of my home with rare and beautiful treasures!
Did that makes sense? This isn't about singleness.......it's about the Joy of the Lord being my strength and Him teaching me how build a home that glorifies Him whether there is one person in it or 30. I am learning what this verse says and means! WE are learning what this verse means as we lean on Him, trust in Him and fall in love with Him..........and then it can't help but overflow into ever corner of our homes!
I AM SO BLESSED BY THIS VERSE TODAY! I am so encouraged right now! I am not just "waiting" but I am learning and growing and producing good fruit....and whether I ever marry or have children I can say that as for ME and MY HOUSE WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!
And I shout AMEN! For His work in me is G-O-O-D! And I love HIM SO!
