HELLO FRIENDS!
This is another long family post (from Christmas) but this time it is my mom's side.
So, the day after we had the funeral we met up with Aunt Chris and Melissa. As many of you know.....my cousin Melissa just got engaged!!!!!!!!!!!! It was our first time to see the AMAZING ring and I just could not stop taking pictures. I even tried it on, as I always do, and just L-O-V-E-D it! Here's the ring and some pics of JOY all over her face!!!
We did some shopping............TEACHERS-----did you know that if you show your school id at New York and Company as well as Ann Taylor Loft that they will take an extra 15% off!!!!!!!!!!!
We found that out on this shopping trip. Totally made my day!
Anywho, Melissa and Aunt Chris introduced us to a store called Charming Charlies.......I had never heard of it but was so blown away by how they display their jewelry and clothing!
Here are mom and Melissa checking out the goods! I will say that they are a little pricey-er than Sam Moon and Forever 21 BUT THEY HAVE THE BEST CHEAP DRESSES AND I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!! I will be shopping there this summer!

That night we went to eat at this place called the BBQ SHOP in Midtown Memphis. My cousin Taylor works there and the FOOD WAS SO GOOD! and let me just say that I love sweet tea.....i mean love it.....i drink it in the morning and would choose it over juice any day........BUT THE BBQ SHOP's sweet tea was so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had such a great time!

One of the nights we were in Memphis we had our annual Dixon family Christmas party. This is my Daddy Bob's side of the family! They have been doing this for YEARS and I mean years. I love it. Family members have come and gone and new generations have been born but the tradition remains!
This year it was at Aunt Peggy and Uncle Jim's house! Here is almost everyone!

The basement is the popular hang out for the younger generations because there is a tv and couches and lots of loud laughing!!!!! Aunt Greta and Melissa talking blogs and mom laughing at something....this pic of mom is so classic!
Jim, Camille, Ginna and Jason....they are the generation before my cousins....i always thought they were so cool and at the lake they would drive the boats real fast and bring all their friends! My first experience with tanning oil was one summer, on top of the boat, and Ginna gave me some! All the girls were up there, i was little, and I thought it was the coolest thing EVER!!!! ha

This is Alexa....Ginna's oldest daughter and she has the best hair cut!!!!! I love the back of it!. She is a freshman in High school, the grade I teach, so I had a fun time talking to her about school and life.

SO meet the newly engaged couple.........wedding is in July and we are very excited!
