ICE...at the Gaylord Texan

Hi Friends!
Yesterday I met up with Mom, Rita (her cousin), and Rita's son Matthew to celebrate Rita's birthday and the Christmas season at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine.

It was such a delightful day and I am so thankful for Mom treating me to this!

I LOVED EVERY MOMENT!

Just one view of this huge resort place!

Our main goal.......To see the ICE exhibit!!!!!!!
The theme: The Grinch

A few inside pics before it was our time to go into 6 degree rooms...ha

We were sooooo excited

On the way in we noticed that there were large amounts of men...yes some handsome AND SINGLE too...wink........then we saw that the Gaylord was hosting the 40th National Athletic Directors Conference. Coaches from all colleges/high schools were there. Mom and I instantly felt at home. I can spot a coach a million miles away. ha

Ok, so time for the ice...i feel like i am writing really random so bare with me.....here is some decor before we entered

Then we walked into THE FREEZING ROOMS....and were instantly in awe of all the ice sculptors.

mom and rita

Matthew...as you can see he was THRILLED to be with us hahahahhahahah

so remember that this is all in ICE! they also give you these huge parkas to wear.

is this not amazing or what????? if i was a little girl i would have been screaming my head off in excitement!

They even have an ice slide...and of course we all went down!

each area was set up like the scenes in the movie... so cool

room after room is amazing with all the color and lights!
But the last area you walk into is the Manger Scene...............I was honestly shocked to see these GIANT SIZE ice sculptures of Mary and Joseph, sheep, wise men, baby Jesus. Christmas music was playing and it really just took my breath away.

it's like when we saw the Rockettes...towards the end they have the wise men walk down the aisles and they have the manger scene and people stand when the Hallelujah chorus plays..........you just don't expect them to honor Christ at the secular things. But it is Christmas right????? Oh yes it is! So when they do I just like to say "Amen,Praise the Lord, to God be the Glory". because THAT is what He deserves!

Mom and I took more pictures and Matthew left. We then walked all over the Gaylord while we waited for our table.

poinsettias are EVERYWHERE!!!!! it is just so beautiful!

lunch was amazing! we shared these really fresh quesadillas and artichoke dip...........................then we got coffee and
TWO DESSERTS!!!!!!!!

This amazing cheesecake that was about the size of my head.

and fresh...still warm...chocolate cake yummmmmmmmmmmm

as you can see the place was decked out in Christmas decor! What a fun time had by all! It was so cold in the ice rooms that I am now in the mood to snow ski. Oh man, nothing like being the first one up on the mountain and the snow so fresh and my nose hair freezing......ahhhh I love the cold!

Mom, thank you for treating me to such an amazing day. I had a blast with yall and it helped put me in EVEN MORE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week of school then Christmas break..............I pray I can survive! ha!

Merry Christmas friends and hope you had a restful weekend!
