Dixie,

Happy Birthday Sister! I can't believe you are turning 30 years old. How the time has flown by. I loved looking through old photos of us. I only had a few of you, here at my house, alone without me. That was because we were best of friends growing up and always together. You were the smartest girl I had ever met and I was always amazed at how neat and organized you were. You got in trouble for "living in your cave" aka bedroom, while I got in trouble for leaving my things all over the house and NOT in my bedroom. You are still a cave dweller. I love that. We go home and I still put my makeup on with the door open and you still with the door closed. Oh we are so different and so alike in many ways! ha! and don't get me started on your rockin dance moves. Oh girl, I thought I would never be able to move like you........but boy did I love cheering you on at cheerleading competitions!!! You had such rhythm!

There is not a single childhood memory that you are not apart of. We played for hours in the woods or with barbies or just making things up. We had great imaginations. I was very protective of you from a young age....remember the time at the lake when that crazy boy said something ugly to you and I swam over, at lighting speed, and punched him right in the face! hahahhahahahha girl that was so not my nature but NOBODY MESSED WITH MY SISTER without getting hurt! haahhahaha Even though you are now married with a man to defend you.....I still have to hold myself back from being over-protective......Sister I would die for you if that meant you could live.

I hated when you went to college. We were never the same apart. I still hate that you live away due to my need for quality time but I enjoy when we get to be together. I think you forget how funny I am!!!!! hahahhahahah just kidding. We could always make ourselves laugh over and over about silly things. Oh the fun we use to have. I love you so much that I tend to struggle with how to love you now as an adult and not my little big sister! ha! You are very special to me and I don't tell you that enough!

So, with that said.........

I now pray this over you Dixie.........

Lord I ask, in Jesus Name, that you would give Dixie the biggest and best year of serving you and worshiping you that she has ever seen. I ask that you would pull her and stretch her in new ways of doing your work. That you would look down and call her out to complete your assignments. That you would build up in her a hunger, that is way greater than anything she has every experienced, for your Word and who you are. That you would give her FRESH Joy and FRESH Hope with each day she wakes.

Change things around in this 30th year. Shake things up, God, for your Glory. Continue to clean her out like you clean us all out. Continue to ask more of her like you ask more of us. Use all of her gifts in every way and put a new 30 year old song in her heart. Thank you for my sister. Thank you that she loves you so much. Thank you that she seeks you. Now Lord, give her a wild year with you. That you would set her on a great adventure to bring you all Glory and Honor and FAME! Protect, guide, and direct her every move in Jesus Name! For we know and trust that you will always provide all her needs! We love you Lord and we praise you for each day that you chose to give us. May we not ever waste a second of it. I love you! Amen
