Remember

Oh my, oh my I am asking God to speak through me today to somebody specifically and YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! I sometimes need to just shout out or scream at the top of my lungs .....you know what I mean....like a shout of excitement and joy over God showing you something neat. Well, I am asking that He does a mighty miracle and makes this neat for somebody other than me because I just love it when we can get excited together.......makes it twice as nice! ha!

So a little background about me to help you relate better to my heart. I am the youngest child and have always been EXTREMELY TENDER HEART to the things of God. I mean extremely. I am that person you know that can't help but cry when the conversation is about God. I just can't help it! I mean, when I was in first grade I accepted Christ, walked down the aisle all by myself like a big girl, and I tell you I boohooed all the way down, the entire time I talked with the Pastor, and when I stood up in font of the entire church....not cause I was scared or nervous, but because the Holy Spirit was up and moving in me for the very first time!. Ever since 7 years of age I CRY EVERY TIME SOMEBODY WALKS THE AISLE.....not kidding....I just love people coming to know Christ young and old, joining a church, or humbling themselves in front of all their brothers and sisters in Christ at the alter in prayer.....see, I am crying now hahahahhah! I Love it!

ha! I remember praying in high school that God would allow me to share my heart without choking up and being so emotional. I laugh at that prayer now because the heart He has made in me is what brings Him a lot of glory and there I was trying to pray it away. The greatest gift He has given me is this blog because I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that 99.9% of the time I cry the ENTIRE TIME I WRITE! ............really you say? Oh yes, but it is a blessing because I am not having to cry and talk....just cry and type! AMEN TO THAT!

So with that said I want to share with you what God has been showing me this week. The post I wrote last week about the "Tongue"..which was a doozie.....has been put on the shelf till the right time. You should see my post list, there are about 58 post that I have never put up about what I have been learning over a year of blogging. They will be a great read when I am old and grey...no i hope to be all white haired with red lipstick and pearls...hahahhahah ok I am getting off track! Focus girl.

So here we go Lord, speak to somebody and lets share the joy!

The other day I studying over verses related to the crucifixion and about the two men on their own crosses around Jesus. On that particular morning the words...."will you remember me" rang though my heart in such a tender way that I burst into tears as I finished the rest of the passage as Jesus says "I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, TODAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE". Today.........in a second when this is all said and done...you will be with me because "this", this that is happening NOW, is what I came to do. To set the captives free. I will remember you.

I read it over and over. The criminals question to the Lord spoke out in such hunger and desperation to me......with such certainty and boldness and truth about what he really deserved. I guess I had never given the criminal much thought but the word REMEMBER sure did grab my attention. I cried so hard because our Savior didn't miss a beat, didn't tell the guy to hold on and I will think bout it, didn't give him crap about all the bad things he had done and what a disappointment he had been, did not look at him in shock as to say.."can you see that i am dying here!"........Jesus simple replied with such heart warming words, words that made the man feel important and that he mattered....."I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise".....and his salvation was sealed.

I don't know about you but this passage has never meant more to me then it does now. All the sudden God has given me new eyes to see that in this specific passage, a passage I read but never really GOT, just a even better glimpse of GOD'S GLORY AND FAITHFULNESS....despite of our ugliness or sin. Today that means the world to me. Today that wakes my soul up to want to share the gospel more.

This morning I was reading about the women coming after the sabbath to bring perfumes and the Angels said to them...... "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!

Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'
"Then they remembered his words. ''

There it was again...the word remember and I knew I had to spend some time studying about it.

one of the Hebrew words for remember is zakar, meaning :
to mark, mention, think, record, still, recall to the mind; think of again, retain in the memory, Keep (someone) in mind, burn....

another definition of remember:
'to keep in mind; to not be held hostage to the now. To be able to follow through on the greatness of past times, or to reject the sins of old when they are repeated today. To draw on the emotional impact of past love to help you through the dry times. If you do not remember, you cannot learn, and you are left unable to use the knowledge you might already have had. Remembering is how pivotal moments and continue to impact your life. When Jesus broke the bread on that last supper with his disciples, he is reported to have said to do this "in remembrance of me". You can't follow a Christ you forget in your daily life.'

Powerful right. I love that the word BURN was used. Burns...all leave a mark. All leave a story you will remember. Burns is my middle name. It was my Dad's mother's maiden name. With the way God has created my relationship with Him, I can't help but love that my name is part of what it means to remember Him. To be marked by Him. I don't know what it is about this word but the more I studied today the more I just fell deeper in love with God. I began looking up all the times that the word "remember" was mentioned in the bible. I was completely blown away that it is mention in a MULTITUDE of MAJOR BIBLICAL EVENTS. 130 times in the OT and 36 times in the NT to be exact ha!

So you just read through the bible! Pretty fun! Oh man I pray you read those. Time and time again God or His people were saying Remember..........and the ALMIGHT GOD SAID THAT HE DID, HE DOES, AND HE WILL REMEMBER HIS CHILDREN. We are burned on His heart. We are constantly on His mind and not just us as a whole........YOU ARE ON HIS MIND! He is so large and so beyond our comprehension that He is the ULTIMATE FATHER that does not ever feel guilty that He has a million children and can't give them undivided attention.........HE IS GOD, HE IS KING OF ALLLLLLLLLL KINGS, and Father of all Fathers.... and friend He has plenty of time for you. Doesn't that bring you sweet security?

He remembers our nights that we plead with Him. He remembered Rachel and opened her womb. He remembered His covenant with Abraham. He does not forget. He does not decide that you have prayed to much for this one thing and is sick of hearing from you. He remembers you.

So we must start remembering Him. In all things, in all situations, in ALL DECISIONS BIG OR SMALL, in all answered prayers and in all that we are still waiting on. I must have His word burned on my heart like a seal that can not be removed. So that in my moments of craziness and doubt I REMEMBER ALL THAT HE HAS DONE. ALL THAT HE HAS PROMISED TO DO..............to remember that He loves me. That I am simply His and ever constant on His mind!

And that my friends makes me cry. Nothing better than being remembered by the people you love. BUT there is NOTHING better than knowing you are remembered by the God of the Universe....the Creator Lord! And I am grateful. I am humbled that I am that criminal beside Jesus and praising God that He opened my eyes and heart to say......"Jesus, remember me..."

oh Father this one was a long one. I just could not hold back on Your Word tonight. Each scripture kept punching my heart and could not bare to let someone miss out. Oh Father I praise you for my salvation.....that it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Jesus........oh how that make me cry. You don't forget us just because we can't hear you or see you move. And I can't be so easy to spaz out when things are crazy. I want to remember You and Your Word in every move I make. I want to not forget what you brought me through and what wonderful things you have done in my life from an early child. I want my heart to always be tender about you. Thank you for not answering my crazy prayers. I am not ashamed that You made me this way. Continue to make us more open, more aware of you working not only in our lives but those around us. Let us not waste anymore time wondering if you care...YOU CARE.....and you know us and we are on your mind. So let us move on from that and start serving you more! I love you and I thank you that even if no one even reads this post....You still get all the Glory and You still get all the Praise and I still got to learn something new!
To Him who is able! Oh I just love you!
