Mother's Day Weekend 09

My Beautiful,

on the inside and outside,
Mom

Oh what a weekend! what a weekend. Driving home this afternoon I replayed all that had gone on and was just smiling ear to ear. I love being with my family.

I love laying on the bed or rocking on the back porch with my mom talking 90 to nothing about all things important to us.

I love coming home and my dad playing all his new music for me.......

I love when my sister Dixie and brother in law George get there and we can eat a big fat lunch of chicken salad on croissant with shredded cheese dip!
Is this not a great photo or what?

I love how supportive my family is with my need to take pictures all the time. They play along with great love and enthusiasm and it brings me joy!

I love my mom stylin in her new sunglasses for the cruise ha

I love my dad's since of humor and how he makes us laugh so much!

I love walking the yard with my mom as she shows us all the pants blooming and the work she and dad have down in the flower beds.

I love sitting on the porch with everyone and staying out there till the very last second. I love not having the tv on or the phones around and having real conversations about anything that pops in our heads!

I love getting some much needed time with my sister!

I love watching my dad grill and my mom run back and forth to the kitchen to get things. The smell of meat cooking has got to be one of my favorite smells!

I love steak and a big fat baked potato with salad and garlic bread

and I love watching George get the neighbors cat out of the tree because the birds are taunting him! haha!

I love hanging out with just the girls.....

I love eating at the dining room table......and lingering after you are so stuffed you just might roll off the chair. I love that this ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery that brought Mom great JOY.......all chocolate...AMAZING......redemmed me from the time I was to get an ice cream cake for mom's 50th b-day and ended up getting just a frozen cake...Oops!

I love that we don't play when it comes to dessert. We yield to dessert. We savor dessert. Heck....growing up my mom planned dinner around what was for dessert! ha! I LOVE THAT!

I love that we know how to appreciate something that taste amazing and are not shy with singing the praises of great food and the one that made it!

there are no words......just look at this goodness

I love that we spent Saturday with a great breakfast, time on the porch for quiet times and some much need TLC at the new Sam Moon in Fort Worth! I love that we do not shrink back from a few....or a million women VERY EXCITED that they no longer have to drive to Dallas to visit Mr. Moon's place.
I love eating at Sweet Bazils in Denton. Thai food is a love of ours!......i also love that my parents are still so cute. High school sweethearts...oh my i just love that.

Meet House Cashew Chicken..........i love that it can change your life...hahahha
I love that we know how to respect Kirkland's for the "decorating at a low price" greatness it brings to Americans

I love that I am of a family that likes to play games...like Mexican Train......with a dad that is a retired Head Football/Athletic Director and PLAYS TO WIN!!! hahahahhaha
Some of us quietly plot the VICTORY

some try bluffing to get us to feel bad for them....hahhahahahaha and then they win!
WE ARE SOOOOOO ON TO YOU DAD!

and some run their mouth and talk big but really care less about the winning/losing...and honestly i did not even WIN ONCE LAST NIGHT...whatever...JUST LOVE giving people heck! hahahah that would be me!

this is me saying ...."oooooooooo bring it!" hahah
I love going to church together. I love sitting together. I go to church alone so I always enjoy this part of my weekend at home. I love hearing my mom pray over all the request in their class. I love how tender her heart is and how she almost always chokes up......and that makes me cry. Hearing her pray is so amazing to me now, as an adult, because I pray much the same way. I love that I learned how to pray from her, that I learned how to be a prayer warrior from her.
I love hearing my dad teach. I love how funny he is and how he explains things so well that really all can understand. He is bold and never afraid to speak the truth. I love how he gives all the history behind what they are learning. I enjoy the fact that I learned to love history and a deep study of the bible from him....how even as a child he made it come alive to us.

I love how cute my dad is in his new jacket!

I love how cute Gracie is....their little neighbor....and how she reminds me of Curly Sue...do you remember that movie?

Oh that face! I just can to give her kisses!

I love that as we were all in the car to church this morning....we talked about George's mom, Dad's mom, and Mom's mom......all in Heaven....and how they were greatly missed.

I thank God so much that I still have my mom. At my age neither one of my parents had their mothers. I love that she is my best friend and I talk to her several times a day.....and how she vocalizes such encouragemnet to me.

I always hate saying goodbye. I love how when I hug my dad before I leave that I can smell his cologne on me all the way home...........This is one of my favorite things ever..........and I love how they stand and watch me drive off. I love that I can call mom a few hours later and we can talk 90 miles an hour as though we did not just spend the whole weekend together.
I love how they love us.
I love how they love each other.
I love how they love their church
and most of all I love how much the love Father and serving Him!

Father, I praise for my mom. I thank you for the energy that she brings and how she does not easily allow someone to come in and take her joy! How she shares what she is struggling with and how she allowed me to see what a walk with Christ was like as a child. I can't praise you for one parent with praising you for the other. They are my biggest fans...and I am such a mix of them......... and I thank you that I can be totally honest with them and they listen. That they support me and pray for me faithfully! I ask that as mom retires in 4 weeks that you would usher them into this next stage of life...to do big things for your glory. They are alive and healthy and I ask that you would use them in a very MIGHTY WAY! I Praise YOU out loud for them. For this great weekend we had. I thank you for all they have sown in me and I thank you for placing them as my parents. I love you! I do, I do, I do! Amen.
