Spring Break and Home Updates

Hello Hello. So this is a long post with little talk and a whole lot of pics.... just the way I like it! I have been busy over spring break and the weeks before adding things to my house and and then I had a weekend trip to Little Rock as well. I wanted you to see what I have been doing and where I stayed! Today is my last day of spring break and as those very words make me cry...i have decided to post instead of nap so that I can go to bed tonight at a decent hour. Spring break makes me always long for summer! Vacation is my life really! hahah! oh just half kidding!
So for my Little Rock friends and surrounding areas...I want you to know that last Sunday I worshiped at the beautiful and big Geyer Springs Baptist Church off 30. It was so good! so good!
I had the wrong start time and walked up in the balcony like I owned the place! ha! 5 minutes later the invitation was given and 1st service was over! OOPS! No wonder the ushers looked at me crazy! hahahahh! so I just sat till the next service started! Let me just say that when the "Days of Elijah" song came on I could hardly control myself! I could have easily danced around while we sang "There's NO GOD LIKE JEHOVAH, there's no God like Jehovah!" Amen Amen. Anyway, Benton/Little Rock friends.... I love your churches and next time I am up that way I want you to invite me to yours so we can worship together!!!!!!!!! ps...their choir was EXCELLENT!
Because this was a mini vacation I really wanted to stay somewhere new and different! Not in the best neighborhood.....but totally safe.....was the Rosemont Luxury Bed and Breakfast! House was built in the late 1800's and I knew it was the place for me! AND BOY WAS I RIGHT!!!!!!!!

I am an old soul. Always have been. Should have been born in another decade but since I was not I am in love with trying to live out the old days whenever I can. Modern decor and simplicity does not make me giggle and smile like antiques and ORIGINAL WOOD FLOORS do! Oh I was in heaven! This porch was one of the best parts. I LOVE...L-O-V-E being on a porch. The porch swing in the back of the pic is where I had my quiet times in the mornings...with the faint smell of bacon from breakfast and the distant sound of classical music from the parlor...I WAS IN LOVE!!!!!!! in love people!
however, I pack for a trip like I am moving! Seriously. Getting up these 1880's stairs with 2009 luggage was a hoot! I was trying to play it cool but my stuff was so heavy that I about passed out by the time I got to my room!
My room was the left door on the landing! I had one whole side of the house to myself!

and here is my room with its big fat king size bed!
fire place that you can turn on whenever you like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!!!!! I loved it and it put out so much heat! I didn't care if it was warm or cold outside if I was in the room it was on!!!!!!
desk area and front window! I had on the TV but just on the Big Band/swing music channel for most of the time. Felt wrong being in an old atmosphere watching TLC! ha! I love old music and it was so fun getting ready because I felt like I was back in the 30's and 40's!
bathroom with back window and side! I loved being able to look out all the time!
ok. the bathtub deserves its very own attention. Ok so it was like a bath for two and of course I am not married but if I was it would be sooooooo fun! jets everywhere and lots of space! Of course it was great alone too....but for you married people out there...this is the tub for YOU! I spent the majority of my Little Rock visit here with water that was so hot I came out of it sweating! Oh what JOY!!!!!!!
The dining room set for breakfast! My family is big on staying somewhere that serves breakfast! I always enjoy seeing what hotels will have for us......usually really good creamer for your coffee.....but staying in a bed and breakfast has RUINED ME!!! It's like being on a cruise...they serve you and give you gourmet food and you eat on china and drink out of crystal! So fancy really! AND......you get to sit down and eat with strangers and share life stories. I was in hog heaven honestly! PLUS.......she had snacks and cokes for you in the kitchen nook for when you needed chocolate! I mean, for the same price as a hotel, it was the way to go!
parlor where you enjoy the morning paper before breakfast
fresh flowers everywhere

Entry way
I had a few things to do while in Little Rock and also did some EXCELLENT shopping! All in all it was just a great time to get away, learn a few things, and return home with some new perspective! I highly recommend the Rosemont B and B!!!!!!! love love!
so now to the house........ this is the outside which most of you have seen.

Well thanks to my first time home buyer credit and my tax return...PRAISE GOD FOR THAT....I have been able to do a few things for my house that I normally could not afford. Like curtains for instance........I needed them everywhere........here they are in my bedroom...(all the following from JCPENNEY and on sale BIG TIME)

This is my sun room. I redid this whole room because I needed it to feel warmer and more inviting because I spend so much time in here studying the Word and doing my bible study. So I got curtains and a rug. Then moved my big chair and ottoman from the living room into here! pic is dark but the rug is red and gold. i love it!
another view! Curtains change everything! I just love that! I am so happy with this room because if somebody asked me what makes up a good space for a quiet time I would say......soft rug for when you are on the ground praying things out, desk or table to hold reading material, and a comfy chair to just be able to pile up with Father and talk!
I had a million windows on one wall so I had to buy the same pattern to keep a good flow. This is the living room with curtains.
and these are my two leather wing back recliners that i got on sale from Haverty's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them!!!!! and it changed the room up so much! I feel like such a grown up with a recliner! ha! plus the leather smells delicious!
now these next pics are just small things that i did the last few weeks......painting and book shelf was moved to wall between kitchen and dining roomfound CHEAP frames from Hobby Lobby....on sale of course.....i buy nothing at full price.... and was able to frame two of my painting for the wall that you see walking into my house!!!!!!! I was so excited and thanks to my dad for my power drill I got as my Christmas "dad gift".....I was able to do it myself! I LOVE POWER TOOLS!!!!!!!
then i hung them up where the bookcase use to be!

This is what I call a big ole fat blessing and I am so grateful that God gave me some money to finish up my house! Now it feels just right! NO MORE SPENDING! Ok, off to enjoy my last few hours of freedom before school starts again tomorrow! Hope you had a great spring break! And if you are still reading at this point..I love you! ha! I really do because you put up with my long windiness! ha! Have a great week!
