Shadowfeet
Just to throw my two cents in...............
I am so over this election time. Don't like any of them, honestly. If I wasn't a believer in Jesus Christ then I might be extra concerned or not even care. But I know My Redeemer lives....and He has all things under HIS control. He will allow what "NEEDS to happen" happen. I don't trust voters, I defiantly don't trust celebrities, I don't even trust the people running.......I trust God.
Micah 6:6-8 NIV
"With what shall I come before the LORD and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God".
The basic involvement of every Christian is to pray for good government and to act justly. This is not negotiable. It is our DUTY. So in my heart I know that whatever the end result is...........my clear and your clear responsibility is PRAYER. We don't just pray for who we want to win and then stop praying if they loose. No, We continue to pray for who ever becomes the leader of our country.
There is a song that I want to share with you by Brooke Fraser. Many of you might have heard this song "Shadowfeet" before. It is really speaking to me over this crazy situation of government......along with a few other things. I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IT! Because this is NOT OUR HOME. Though we must dwell here for awhile, Heaven is where we belong. When things seem crazy of sorts..... WE, I am speaking of Believers in Jesus Christ, will still be standing. Until then, we honor our government leaders, we choose to shut up and live in peace, we live godly...holy, and we TRUST GOD........and we show God that we trust Him by ACTIVELY PRAYING that HIS WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!
Walking,stumbling on these shadowfeet

I love the words...."you make all thing new". Because HE DOES! and when it feels like the world has fallen out from under us..............we are found STILL STANDING.....
TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
It also says that we are walking less and less asleep.........that so perfectly describes the stages of relationship with God. As we grow we stop needing baby food and God starts feeding us real food. The more we walk in Him...TRUST HIM......the less asleep we are. The less fear I have about our future. The more I understand that the days are drawing near for Father's return and the fact that things will get very, VERY BAD as that time approaches.
I also love how it talks about so many distractions and the shadows saying "it's easier to stay". I am really trying to have peace in my soul with the "shadow world". The shadows saying to "DO THIS, VOTE THAT, DO WHAT IS POPULAR, DO WHAT IS COOL, STOP TALKING ABOUT GOD, STOP DEPENDING ON GOD......SHUT UP ABOUT TRUTH".....BLAH BLAH BLAH.................I just want to scream..."THIS DOESN'T END BAD FOR US BUT FOR YOU.....DON'T YOU SEE......."
so what do we do?

"Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing WRONG, they may see your good deeds and glorify GOD on the day HE visits us." 1 Peter 2.12
"For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the IGNORANT TALK of FOOLISH MEN." 1 peter 2.15
"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self -controlled so that YOU CAN PRAY!" 1 peter 4.7
and we will pray this over our leaders.......
"Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasures for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may TAKE HOLD OF THE LIFE THAT IS TRULY LIFE!" 1 Timothy 6.18-19
"Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." Eph 6-1920
Father I have my eyes only on you. You will tell me what to do concerning our government. I have one vote and I choose to use it to HONOR YOU. No matter the outcome........YOU ARE STILL GOD AND YOU ARE STILL GOOD. No matter the outcome.......You are the lover of my life and I am only here to bring you GLORY. USE US. WORK THROUGH US. KEEP US FROM NOT BEING OF THE WORLD....we are just in it.....singing your praises and proclaiming your LIVING WORD TILL YOU CALL US HOME! I LOVE YOU.....thank you that we are found in you!

So as a believer, wanting to honor God in every decision.......what do I do? I have been really thinking about this. Who ever God "allows" to win....it will be strictly because He "allowed" it. So what does His word say about all of this election stuff. That's all I care about....what does the LIVING WORD SPEAK!
1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIV
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
