Prayer for George
UPDATE:
There were complications with the surgery......it was worse than they thought and the doctor ended up having to open up his rib cage......???? I don't have all the details but one lung was pretty much doing all the work! PRAISE GOD they decided to go in and check. He will have to now stay in the hospital for a week to make sure everything is ok......continue to left up Dixie and George! Thank you...we love you all for praying!
George is my sister Dixie's husband. He has been sick with pneumonia for a little while and was not able to come to my parents last weekend because he was still feeling bad. He relapsed on Sunday and has been in the hospital...on oxygen....since Monday. This is the email from Dixie.....
Please pray for George as he has video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) today. We are not sure what time the surgery will be...(UPDATE...at 1pm) , but I will send out an email as soon as we know. Dr. Baptiste will be operating on George to remove the pockets of fluid and scar tissue that are between his right lung and rib cage. He currently has an infection which is caused by a complication with pneumonia. The doctor said this is more common with young healthy people who have pneumonia and for whatever reason their body cannot fight it off. Thank you for the prayers and support. We really appreciate it. George will be moving to a different part of the hospital today for recovery, so we will not be in Room 230 as of this afternoon. The doctor believes that after today George will need to stay in the hospital another 3 to 5 days. I will email the new room number once we know. We are praying for God's will and protection for George during the surgery.
