Baby Love, My Baby Love

This weekend was nice and calm, PRAISE THE LORD,.....minus my meltdown in the diaper aisle of Target. I have so many people right now having babies....AND PICKING OUT A GIFT FOR NEW MOM OR DIAPERS FOR MOTHER ALREADY....IS HARD. Bless my mother’s heart for having to listen to my craziness about what to get. I had no idea that there are a million brands of diapers and a million different sizes...and don't get me started on wipes....scented, unscented, sensitive, blah blah blah. I flagged down several mothers asking them “what is it that you REALLY want and need". Anyway, I did get the gifts and got out of target as soon as possible.

My Sunday school teacher, Dr. Steve and his wife Ashley, are having another little girl so I brought their gift to them at church. After church, I hit the road and headed 1 hour east to the cute East Texas town of CANTON....YES LADIES...THE HOME OF THE LARGEST TRADE DAYS IN AMERICA....and where I graduated high school. My dear friend Renee is expecting her first child. I was excited to go to Canton because my parents do not live there anymore and I seldom get to see some of the ladies that I so dearly love..

Renee (mom to be) and I

We have know each other since my family moved to Canton.
I was in 8th and she in 6th. We were in church choir and youth group together. We dressed up like silly cowboys and did skits during church service. Renee is dear to my whole family.
We were then college roommates at Dallas Baptist University. She was cracking me up while she opened the gifts because she would say..."oh thank you for the.....thing?????" We didn't have a clue what some of the stuff was or used for. It was so funny!
It was at the home of Miss Michael and everything was just beautiful. If you look behind them there is a massive church stain glass arched window in the eating area. OH WITH THE LIGHT SHINING THROUGH IT WAS BREATHTAKING.

It was a great shower. As I was talking to my old 11th and 12th Sunday school teacher...I began to just hear the Holy Spirit saying to me "look around you.....these are the women that helped mold you". I was so taken back with the thought that I could have just cried like a baby right there. IT WAS THE TRUTH. I don't know what it is the Lord is doing right now with me but he is wanting me to be very aware of his past work in my life and the people he used (hence the mentor post). I am going to have to step out and say....I think he is calling me to go back in my past and PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME FOR THE WOMEN THAT INVESTED IN ME! I NEED TO THANK HIM OUT LOUD WITH MY WORDS. That is what I am going to do LORD! I don't think I had stopped and really PRAISED HIM before, but his calling on my life had everything to do with each woman that sought me out to teach me, lead me, push me. Women that had jobs, children, activities and still took the time to disciple me. I think I have some overdue "thank you notes" to write. I am so thankful that he opened my eyes to be more sensitive to his work in me and for me, even as a child. If he is calling me to women's ministry then I have to go back and fully PRAISE HIM FOR WOMEN IN MY LIFE so that I grasp the privilege of him using me in other's lives. GOD YOU ARE A GOOD GOD!!!!!
" Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." 1John 4:7

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God". Titus 2:3-5
